Early voting began in Ohio on Tuesday as voters headed to the polls in an election that could play an important role in determining control of the U.S. Congress after the November midterm elections. Ohio has several closely watched races, including a Senate contest and two House races considered highly competitive.

The elections are taking place against a backdrop of growing voter concerns about the cost of living. Rising prices for food, energy and housing have become major issues for voters, adding economic pressure to an already closely contested political environment.

Republicans currently hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate, while their advantage in the House is considerably narrower. The outcome of competitive races across states such as Ohio could therefore have a significant impact on the balance of power in Washington.

Ohio's early voting period is expected to attract significant attention from both political parties. Campaign organizations are working to encourage supporters to vote early, while candidates continue making their case to undecided voters.

Economic conditions are likely to remain central to the campaign. Inflation has remained a concern for many Americans, with household expenses and energy costs influencing political discussions as the November 3 election approaches.

The political stakes extend beyond Ohio. Voters across the country will decide congressional races that could determine how easily the White House advances its legislative agenda during the next two years.

With both parties focused on turnout, competitive states are expected to receive increased campaign attention in the final weeks before Election Day. Ohio's early voting results and turnout patterns could provide an early indication of voter enthusiasm heading into the final stage of the campaign.
