Community Review: Crocodile River Music – 2026 Worcester’s Got African Talent Show

Crocodile River Music’s 2026 Worcester's Got African Talent Show took place in Institute Park, Worcester, Massachusetts, on September 12, 2026. It was hosted by Lekia Cherubin-Casseus. It was the fourth annual event. It was not just a show that was created; it brought the entire Worcester community together. It provided games, art, and other activities. These six artists - Charles Ketter, Big Emms, Born Everlasting, YaGrlTam, SON, and Elijah Nguli showcased their amazing talents through art, poetry, and music.
SON and Elijah Nguli used their visual art skills in their storytelling to represent African culture and support the Worcester Community. Nguli’s painting represents the African countries that qualified for the FIFA World Cup. He explained the history and the talents.
Meanwhile, Dancers showed unexpected performances. Berklee alumnus Charles Ketter blends jazz music with rhythmic drums to influence the African diaspora. It was a tune based on love and commitment. His song, Sister’s Blues, is a funk tune about frustration.
Born Everlasting showcased his 15-minute rhythmic skills, blending art and poetry into his lyrics. He rapped six songs, including Tribe’s Not Tribe Till It’s Rainbow. Big Emms performed six songs to avoid disappointing fans with the latest single, Blessing, which he released in August.
The last performer, YaGrlTam, who knows how to light up the room, always entertained the crowd as she performed six songs, such as Showin’ Me Love from her latest EP, Funemployed, which came out in January.
