Worcester, Massachusetts – UMass Chan Medical School associate professor of pediatrics Dr. Zachary Binder reported that across America, Massachusetts is experiencing a rise in flu cases as the flu season begins this year.
“We're seeing higher fevers," said Binder. "We're seeing respiratory complications. We're seeing dehydration. So, you know, it does seem to be kind of a more virulent strain this year.”
The Department of Public Health in Massachusetts found evidence that the population of Influenza is increasing, with over 30 flu deaths during the Winter Season.
Unfortunately, four children have died of the flu.
Recently, Doctors have strengthened the obstructive estimation.
“Copious handwashing, avoiding school, avoiding the social activities if you're not feeling well, and especially if you have a fever," said Binder. "Keeping your kid home rather than trying to have them go into school if they're not feeling well.”
Mass DPH suggested the population of flu vaccination has been lower. Binder reported that, notwithstanding the considerable adjacent tension this year, flu shots exhibit in preventing long-term illness and death.
“If you're considering getting the flu shot, now is really the time because it does take a couple of weeks," said Binder. "So, if you want to get some effect out of it this flu season, I wouldn't wait much longer.”
