Joyce Wrice is the Captain of her Own Ship; she knows exactly what she wants, and she is fearless to release her single, “Break Me In”.
The R&B singer-songwriter released “Break Me In” on January 23, 2026, via Joyce Wrice Music Inc./BMG. She co-wrote with Shae Jacobs and Church. Malik Ninety Five and Mike Baratez produced this track, delivering the influence of 2000s R&B to represent the classic era of Amerie’s 2002 debut album, All I Have.
Wrice’s vocal range provides the sultry production as she expresses the physical intimacy that could be conveyed to her significant other.
“When I touch myself, it’s not the same / I need you to break me in / Don’t make me wait,” Wrice sings.
“Break Me In” is the lead single for Wrice’s upcoming sophomore album, which is expected to be published later this year, following up on her 2021 debut album Overgrown.
Speaking of Wrice’s debut album, she stated in an interview on Rated R&B.
“I had some experiences and went through a lot of different emotions and lost myself,” said Wrice. “I was able to use these studio sessions as opportunities to put how I’m feeling in song form and take what I was writing in my journal into the music.”
