Worcester, Massachusetts – Will Celtics star Jayson Tatum return to playing basketball this season? Tim McKone of 98.5 The Sports Hub believed so. "He's coming out with a docu-series over the next few weeks documenting what he's gone through in this injury return. I don't think you'd come out with something like that, only to then say, I'll be back next season. So I expect him to be back this year.”
Tatum ruptured his Achilles tendon while playing against the New York Knicks in the 2025 NBA Playoffs. If Tatum come back, Worcester native McKone explained that the Celtics would be prompt label rival, “If he's back this year, I think the Celtics suddenly have two of the best players in the NBA, in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum and are a real contender in the Eastern Conference because they have really surprised this season even without their best player in Jayson Tatum.”
