Trump dismissed the new AI Guardrails, saying, “There is a SICK conspiracy” against the technology and data centers

Washington, D.C. — President Trump said on Monday, September 14, that he would be an adequate guardrail against rogue artificial intelligence, accusing anyone who tries to limit the technology of being part of a “SICK conspiracy”.
Trump was pushing back against calls from tech leaders, including Anthropic’s Dario Amodei, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, and Elon Musk, to engage in strong government oversight of AI. Their goal is to work on the technology in ways that involve safety, address legal liability, feed economic growth, advance science, and preserve national security.
The president would keep at his post in the Oval Office and address any fears about AI that has recently become controversial due to suspicious hacks in past months that appears AI agents could progress to fool humans.
"The only control or 'guardrails' that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!", said Trump.
Trump specifically explained that the administration had already completely stopped the AI Company Anthropic “from doing bad, or potentially bad” things. Anthropic had to suffer an uncomfortable relationship with the Trump Administration, with the Pentagon trying to classify the company’s models as a security risk and temporarily banning a lot of advanced models.
Amodei released a 3,800-word essay on Saturday that called for slower development of AI. Microsoft, on Monday, September 14, released its own code of conduct to confirm that humans control AI. The major role emerged after a series of warnings by AI experts about the technologies’ capabilities and the July 2026 cyberattack by OpenAI Models on the AI Company Hugging Face.
However, the President has aganist to comprise AI and claims that it could worsen the consequences, which could eclipse America in AI.
“There is a SICK conspiracy going on against AI and Data Centers, and the only one that is happy about it is China,” Trump said.
According to Spectrum News, “the president has long resisted efforts for greater government oversight of AI, embracing his philosophy going back to 2016 of ‘I alone can fix it.’He returned to the White House last year by revoking a Biden administration executive order on AI oversight and only providing a fuller order of his own more than 16 months later this past June.”
The prospect of the slow-processing AI buildout to could provide stocks to slip in Monday morning trading, as demand for advanced computer chips and construction and materials for data centers could disrupt. Therefore, Trump’s anger at AI had also originated as a political liability coming in November’s midterm elections, with many voters criticizing the construction of additional data centers and expressing concern that AI disrupts job opportunities and destroys children’s education.
Rahm Emmanuel, the former Chicago mayor, Democratic congressman, and White House chief of Staff, stated on Saturday, September 12, about the Anthropic CEO’s essay.
“An admission that we're driving down a dark, winding road on wet pavement with the headlights off. And where's President Trump? Looks like he nodded off again,” said Emmanuel. “It's time to turn the lights on, put both hands on the wheel, and regain control before it's too late.”
The administration has constantly sought to limit the risks to AI companies to highlight them.
Vice President JD Vance explained to reporters on Monday morning, September 14, about AI.
“I don't think Americans should be scared of anything,” said Vance.
Vance, expressing as he was ready to spread his wings to Kansas for a midterm election campaign event, reported that the Trump administration is worried about AI; however, it demands that the technology be used wisely, addressing the warning that the United States is in an AI arms race against China.
"Personally, I feel a little bit weird about the fact that you have so many frontier AI tech companies kind of coming to the government and begging the government to regulate them. It feels a little bit to me like a bit of a Trojan horse," said Vance. "So, I think we just have to be careful about this.”
