Worcester, Massachusetts – A restaurant located on Worcester’s Grafton Street, which provides rich West African Cuisine from Ghana, was seized by the Worcester Department of Revenue (DOR) due to unpaid taxes, as indicated by two signs posted on the restaurant’s window on June 2.
Accra Girls at 1280 Grafton Street, the DOR seized them due to nonpayment of taxes, which was written in black and orange. Emmanuel Larbi and Manasseh Konabu, the co-owners of Accra Girls, unfortunately, did not make any comments to address the issue on that day.
Accra Girls first launched in 2017, in the opinion of Worcester Business Journal’s profile about Larbi. The Instagram’s page of the restaurant explained that it provides “hospitality on a plate”.
The Ghanaian restaurant brings popular cuisines including Jollof rice, boiled yam, spinach stew, and Banku – a starchy cuisine that combines corn and cassava doughs.
