Ariana Grande released Hate That I Made You Love Me on May 29, 2026, and it is the lead single for her upcoming album, Petal, via Republic Records. The song was co-written and produced by Grande, Ilya, and Max Martin.
Grande released a horror-inspired music video on June 2 that was directed by Christian Breslauer and features Justin Long, who plays Grande’s love interest. The film reveals that, by burying Grande, however, her ghost triggers him, as he wants to demolish any sources from their relationship.

Grande’s Hate That I Made You Love Me debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the week of June 13, 2026, making her 10th number one in her career.
