Ayra Starr released “Gimme Dat” with a Duet of Wizkid on April 25, 2025, via Marvin Global Holdings/Republic Records.
The Grammy Award-nominated recording artist released an official music video on May 9, 2025.
The Source magazine reported that “The visual centers on Starr as she intimately sings to the camera under the night sky beside a classic red automobile. The video seamlessly transitions between shots of her playfully spinning on a giant vinyl record and scenes featuring WizKid commanding attention in a stunning mansion, surrounded by dancers. The choreography and the palpable chemistry between the artists vividly bring the energy of “Gimme Dat” to life on screen, creating a transfixing visual experience that mirrors the song’s infectious vibe.”
This collaboration brought Ayra Starr and Wizkid a reunion since their 2022 song, “2 Sugar”. It contained a sample from Mary J. Blige and Wyclef Jean’s 2000s classic “911”, the VybeO and Mikabeatz produced this Afrofusion track to combine the African Rhythm and American R&B sound.
