The Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC has been honoured as Sri Lanka’s Best Trade Finance Bank at the Euromoney Transaction Banking Awards 2025, reaffirming its leadership in supporting the nation’s export and import sectors. This prestigious global recognition from Euromoney highlights institutions that excel in innovation, operational excellence, and demonstrable impact across trade finance, cash management, payments, and digital banking.

Commercial Bank continues to dominate Sri Lanka’s trade finance landscape, holding a 21% market share in exports and 14.26% in imports. In 2024 alone, the Bank facilitated over US$ 5 billion in trade transactions, underscoring its critical role in sustaining the flow of goods, services, and foreign exchange.

Its achievements have also been acknowledged regionally, with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) naming Commercial Bank its Leading Partner Bank in Sri Lanka for the fourth consecutive year under the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Programme.

A key driver of the Bank’s success is ComBank TradeLink, the country’s first fully integrated, end-to-end digital trade finance platform. The system consolidates operations such as Letters of Credit, export collections, and shipping guarantees into a single secure online interface. This innovation has enhanced customer experience, accelerated processing times, and reduced paperwork across thousands of transactions.

As Sri Lanka’s largest private sector bank—and the first to surpass US$ 1 billion in market capitalisation—Commercial Bank continues to strengthen national trade, lead digital transformation, and contribute to building a more resilient and inclusive export-driven economy. The Bank also boasts the highest Tier I capital base among all Sri Lankan banks and was the first local bank to be listed among the Top 1000 Banks of the World.
