Worcester, Massachusetts — The Holy Cross Baseball team will play in the NCAA regional tournament on Friday, May 30, against the University of North Carolina at UNC. The Crusaders were looking forward to a huge opportunity to play one of the major teams across New England this season.
"Yeah, really excited to be playing North Carolina, the number 5 national seed, in many polls they're 2nd or 3rd, so one of the best teams in America." Said Head Coach Ed Kahovec. "They have the ACC pitcher of the year, so very tough competition but you know we have a very strong Holy Cross alumni contingency in that area, it's still on the East Coast, it's relatively close to some other options we could have played at so very excited about the draw and playing against one of the top teams in the country."
"Everyone here is excited, we're excited to go down and play North Carolina," said 1B, Chris Baillargeon, "we're happy we got that draw, we know they have a really good fan base there we know it's going to be a packed crowd, so we're excited for that game that atmosphere."
