Kehlani released her latest single, Folded, on June 11, 2025, via Atlantic Records. Andre Harris, D.K. The Punisher, Don Mills, and Khris Riddick-Tynes produced this classic 2000s-influenced R&B track.
“Folded” found the California-native songstress explaining her difficult feelings about the relationship at its close. She had realized she may have overreacted in the desire to part ways, and acknowledged taking another rotation: “I know I didn’t have to walk away / All I had to do was ask for space.”
Kehlani left an open invitation for her significant other to pick up where they had left their folded clothes; however, she did not approach harshly. Kehlani hoped it would let her and her romantic partner renew.
Additionally, the lyrics “Folded” continue with a sexual desire with a line including “I’ll let your body decide if this is good enough for you.”
Kehlani co-wrote “Folded” with Dixson, Kamal Wilson, and the antecedent producers. Kehlani released Crash in June 2024, which features her summer hit, After Hours, and she promoted the Crash Tour.
