Sabrina Carpenter released “Manchild” on June 5, 2025, via Island Records, where she co-wrote the song with Amy Allen and Jack Antonoff. She also co-produced with Jack Antonoff. “Manchild” appears between couplets as “Did you just say you’re finished? Didn’t know we started/It’s all so familiar, baby, what do you call it/Stupid, or is it slow?”

The music video shows Carpenter unwind in a surreal desert odyssey for “Manchild,” which both Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, directed. In February 2025, Carpenter published the deluxe version of her 2024 multi-platinum album, Short n’ Sweet. She won two awards from the 2025 Grammy Awards – “Best Pop Vocal Album” for “Short n’ Sweet”, and “Best Pop Solo Performance” for the album’s first single, “Expresso”.
