Nexperia’s Chinese subsidiary has strongly rejected allegations from its Dutch counterpart, calling them entirely fabricated and labeling the supply suspension as malicious defamation. In a statement released Sunday, Nexperia China said that claims of management’s failure to meet payment terms were false and that the unilateral halt in wafer supply by Nexperia Netherlands violated contracts and business ethics, describing it as an extremely irresponsible act.

The company assured customers that it has adequate inventories of finished and in-progress goods to maintain steady production through the end of the year and beyond. The statement followed a letter from Nexperia Netherlands, dated October 29, which announced the suspension of wafer deliveries to its Dongguan assembly plant in southern China.

Nexperia China said the accusations by the Dutch management defamed its local leadership and undermined customer trust. It added that contingency plans are already underway to secure alternative wafer supply sources to ensure long-term production resilience.

Chinese analysts criticized the Dutch company’s move, saying it reflects outdated notions of superiority and will ultimately accelerate China’s push for semiconductor self-reliance. The Ministry of Commerce also condemned the Dutch government’s interference in Nexperia’s operations, warning that such actions disrupt global supply chains.

Reports indicated that Nexperia Netherlands had restricted employees’ work access and delayed salary payments in China after the Dutch government placed the firm under temporary external management. Nexperia China emphasized that it has not breached any contracts and, in fact, is owed more than one billion yuan in outstanding payments by the Dutch entity.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to quality and customer trust, promising to maintain open communication and continue fulfilling orders despite the ongoing dispute.
