The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a series of vehicle recalls affecting more than 300,000 cars and motorcycles across multiple manufacturers. The recalls, issued between June 9 and June 15, span a range of issues including software malfunctions, faulty parts, and safety labeling errors.

Mitsubishi is recalling 198,940 units of its Outlander SUVs, covering models from 2022 to 2025, due to a software error affecting the rearview camera. The glitch may cause the camera image to freeze or fail to appear entirely. Mitsubishi previously recalled nearly 90,000 vehicles in May 2023 for a similar issue. Dealers will update the software free of charge, and owner notifications are expected to be mailed by June 30.

Harley-Davidson issued a recall for 82,117 Softail motorcycles spanning model years 2018 to 2024. The rear shock pre-load adjuster tab may break, potentially causing contact with the rear tire and a sudden loss of tire pressure. Affected models include FLDE, FLHCS, FLHC, FXLRS, FXLRST, FLHCS ANV, and FXRST. Dealers will install a new bracket at no cost. Notification letters are expected by June 16.

Rivian is recalling 27,882 of its 2025 R1S and R1T electric vehicles due to faulty front turn signals. A manufacturing defect in the headlamps may prevent the signals from illuminating and flashing. The company will inspect and replace affected parts for free. Notifications are set for July 25.

Kawasaki is recalling 17,792 of its 2024-2025 Ninja ZX-6R motorcycles after discovering that over-torqued bolts damaged the crankshaft bushings, possibly causing engine power loss. Riders are advised not to operate the motorcycles until the repair is completed. A recall remedy is currently under development, with no set notification date.

Hyundai recalled 10,409 units of its 2025 IONIQ 5 due to an improperly aimed right-side headlight, linked to a mislabeling issue. The problem stems from poor maintenance of a molding die used during manufacturing. Hyundai will provide corrected labels and offer dealer assistance for installation. Notification letters are scheduled for August 2.

Chrysler also announced a recall for 2024-2025 Dodge Chargers due to missing exterior sound amplifier software, which affects pedestrian safety alerts. Owners will receive software updates free of charge beginning July 10.
