Kehlani released her new single, “Back and Forth,” Featuring Missy Elliott, for her upcoming self-titled studio album that is set to be released on April 24th, her birthday, via Atlantic Records.
“Back and Forth” is the third single from KEHLANI's fifth studio album, which features the Oakland native songstress’s previously released singles Out The Window and Folded.
According to Rated R&B, Kehlani’s self-titled album showcases “her at her most honest, blending soul-baring storytelling with the lush, genre-bending sound that has made her one of modern R&B’s most influential voices. The project also explores themes centered around love, transformation, vulnerability and growth.”
Kehlani received the 2026 Grammy Awards in two categories, “Best R&B Song” and “Best R&B Performance” for “Folded.”
Kehlani’s self-titled album follows her 2024’s Crash, which featured her summer song, After Hours, that was both nominated for Best R&B Song and Best R&B Progressive Album in the 2025 Grammy Awards, respectively. She also worked on her Promoting Tour for “Crash” as well.
